Clarksville is a small historic district located southwest of Downtown Austin, Texas. Communities bordering Clarkesville are Westfield to the west, Old West Austin to the north, Downtown Austin to the east, and Colorado River to the south. The neighborhood has a rich cultural significance in the African-American community that was freed after the Civil War. Long-standing buildings in the area include a local school and church that have been in the area during the 1870s. There are also several family-friendly parks throughout the community including the Graffiti Park at Castle Hill on the eastern side of the neighborhood.
